‘We don’t count all the votes.’

Greg Palast

Catch Greg Palast on Larry King’s PoliticKing with guest host Matthew Cooke on political elites rigging the electoral system. Palast gives Cooke a quick history lesson on vote trickery beginning with 2000-and why you haven’t heard the true story in the US main-stream media.

Palast: “There’s not much of an electoral process, we get the candidates selected for us. Here’s the problem, in America we don’t count all the votes.”

Wisconsin GOP Pol Reveals
Real Reason for Voter ID

Oops!  Wisconsin Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-Campbellsport) gave away the nasty little weapon that Republicans plan to use in November. In an interview with WTMJ-TV at the Ted Cruz victory rally Tuesday night, he explained how Republicans can win the Blue state even if the voters prefer the Democrat.

“I think Hillary Clinton is about the weakest candidate perhaps they’ve ever put up and now we have photo ID and I think that photo ID is going to make a bit of a difference as well.…more

Voter ID Laws Strike Again
This Time Wisconsin

Wisconsin’s ‘How to get a voter ID’ Info Sheet

Arizona isn’t going to be the only place with voting issues this primary season. Today, voters in Scott Walker’s Wisconsin head to the polls. Due to changes in voting laws, there’s a very good chance that there’s going to be a problem.

Wisconsin has some of the strictest voter ID laws in the country and today will be the first time they are tried out during a primary. It’s estimated that hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites will be disenfranchised thanks to these laws. The hardest hit will be the poor, minorities and college students, i.e. black and blue voters.

Many Wisconsin college students will be out of luck and unable to feel the Bern as their college ID is not acceptable for voting. As some are from out of state – but registered at their college – this leaves them out of luck as their ID doesn’t have their address on it or a signature. With the ways of getting an acceptable ID limited (one office on a campus, with limited hours) and their requests for a new Scott Walker approved college ID card denied, voting in what is likely their first election seems like a no go.

Unfortunately this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this. In 2008 when voter ID laws came to our attention with Crawford v. Marion County Election Board – Indiana was the test case. You might have read about it in our comic book – Steal Back Your Vote or in Billionaires & Ballot Bandits. It was the silly story with the nuns.

Here’s the text that inspired the comic.

Angela Hiss and Allyson Miller both students at Notre Dame were denied the right to vote because they didn’t have the right kind of ID – one that listed their dorm rooms as their residence. …more

So, these ten nuns walk into a polling station and… Oh, you’ve heard that one?

What you didn’t hear is that, besides the Sistersof the Holy Cross who lost their vote because their drivers licenses expired, 144,896 other legal voters were told to scram in this year’s primary ””all caught attempting to vote without a license. The rejected were, disproportionately, African-American,according to data from the University of Washington.

Apparently, the idea for this racially rancid rule came to Karl Rove while he was buying his Pampers: “If I try to cash a check at a grocery store, I have to show an ID. Why not for voting?”

The answer, Karl, is that for a century, Indiana folks have voted without photo ID with not a single known case of voter identity theft. It’s true the law nabbed Shirley Preiss, a 98-year old Democrat whose driver’s license expired. Drop that ballot, Shirl, and no one gets hurt.

Santiago Juarez sees some truth in Rove’s remarks. We met with Santiago in Espanola, New Mexico, where he was running a registration drive among low-riders, the young Mexican-Americans who cruise the street in hopping, bopping, neon-outlined Chevys. He says, “The same poverty and racism that keeps these kids from getting credit cards keeps them from getting ID.” A young Mexicana he escorted to the polls was turned away from her first-ever attempt to vote for failure to produce an ID to the white pollworker’s satisfaction, despite Santiago’s protest.

“She said, well, something you can’t print, and refused to try again. She said, ”˜They don’t want me to vote, anyway.’” …more

Space Invaders: Five Million Aliens for Hillary

Will José Crow Voter ID Laws Pick Our President?

Thursday, January 10, 2008

State Representative Russell Pearce of Mesa Arizona has warned us:

“There is a massive effort under way to register illegal aliens in this country.”

How many? According to the Congressman’s office, there are five million: Democrats, he says, who are not good Americans – they’re Mexicans!

Really?! Holy Cow! The Senator has uncovered a conspiracy to flood the voter rolls with Brown Hordes who’ve swum the Rio Grande just for a chance to vote for Hillary Clinton?!

Thank the Lord for vigilant citizens like Senator Pearce. His efforts, along with the work of other patriotic (Republican) politicians, iglesiasclip.jpg successfully stopped 300,000 voters from obtaining ballots in 2004 – because these voters had brought the wrong ID to the polls. New ID laws in Arizona and half a dozen states blocked these voters at the polling-house door. Others with “wrong” ID’s were handed what are called ‘provisional’ ballots – which were then not counted.

On Wednesday, the Republican majority on the US Supreme Court indicated it would vote to uphold these new voter ID requirements.

And just in time. If not for these new ID laws, warns Senator Pearce and other Republicans across the nation, a dark wave of illegal aliens would vote again in our upcoming Presidential election.

Or maybe not. Maybe there aren’t five million illegal voters for Hillary or Obama or Edwards. …more
