[Nov 9, 2022: Atlanta, GA] I want to show you something, but it’s been disappeared. It was an icon of American democracy, a ballot dropbox. And last year, over half a million Atlantans dropped their ballots in those boxes.
Overwhelmingly, they were progressive and Black voters, and that scared the hell out of Governor Brian Kemp. So he signed a law, SB 202, that got rid of those dropboxes.
The result? The number of mail-in ballots dropped by 83%. And that forced the state’s Democratic Senator, the Reverend Raphael Warnock, into a runoff with his challenger, Herschel Walker.
On December 6th, we’ll find out the winner: Georgia’s voters or vote suppression.
