For 26 years, since that moment when George W. Bush Jim-Crowed his way into the White House, I’ve been on the racist “vote suppression” beat.
And after exposing one vicious voter-blocking trick after another, look where we are: it’s like the 1950s but with AI. Gestapo-style citizenship tests to vote, the Post Office used as a fascist tool of cold vote-rigging.
At 74, I can’t say I’ve given up, that I’ll just move into assisted living and tell the nurse, “Turn off the news, I don’t care anymore.”
So, against my better judgment, I’m jumping back in. No parachute.
We’ve convened the voter protection Avengers: Gerald Griggs of NAACP Atlanta, Chairwoman of Rainbow PUSH CK “Trish” Hoffler, Lydia Camarillo of Latino Mobilization at SVREP, Barbara Arnwine, Chairwoman of the Transformative Justice Coalition, PLUS a legal-eagle A-Team, media experts, and a whole lot of talented people who are infected with ‘Hope’ (Heaven help us!).
I’ve emptied out a chunk of my pension for this last hurrah for democracy. I can’t ask you to do that, but I can ask you to donate to put the maximum power into the fighting machine, the program we call, SaveYourVote.

- The purge of “suspected non-citizens” from the rolls guaranteed to wipe out the registration of tens of thousands of Americans named “Garcia.”
- And this punch in the gut: the return of “Interstate Crosscheck,” the Kobach/Trump purge of “double voters.” In 2016, they wiped out the registration of over 700,000 voters with names like James Brown, handing Georgia (and the White House) to Trump. And now Crosscheck is back.
