Biden’s opportunistic anti-busing crusade, and his odious anti-integration 1975 statement that, “To ‘desegregate’ is different than to ‘integrate,’” means he cannot get African Americans to the polls in November, even against Trump.
“A different era” is not a defense. As my comrade John Nichols points out, another Senator of the era, Edward Brooke, gave up his political career in a principled defense of busing. Joe, your best line in the debate was, “My time is up.”
