Please keep up standards and inform us of the dates of each posting. The postings are interesting. Interesting to read what the tea party people say. Very naive to think that without government, we atomized individuals could curb corporate power. Why don't tea party people like Frenchie recognize that we need to take control of government, get corporate money out of our election process so that then we are in position to demand of our representatives that they limit corporate power and strengthen the democratic process. I don't get how thinking people can look at what is happening and still be libertarian.

I want to know more about what happened behind closed doors when Obama met with BP. One way to tell who will be paying for the spill is to look at British Petroleum's stock price. Despite the fact that BP was been unable to plug for most of the month of July, the price rose from almost 29 on June 30th to almost 38 now with virtually all of the rise occurring during the first two weeks of the month.

Thanks very much for your investigative work. We need many more of you.

Its amazing to me that no-one has linked T Boone Pickens and Dick Cheney to the gosh awful oil spill. Boone Pickens is the one that started the Mesa Corporation - has a hand in the Exxon Valdez oil spill - and is widely linked to BP since he is the one that started BP Capital. Dick Cheney is linked to the Exxon Valdez - heads up Halliburton (behind the scenes) and is well known for his association with the so called protection companies in Iraq. (He was also a lousy VP)
Some-one answer and set me straight if I am wrong.

I'm a former New Orleanian. And there has been much talk about using super tankers to clean up the voilcano spew in the Gulf. It was apparently used quite successfully in Saudi in the 90's to clean up a spill much larger than the Exxon Valdez. This suggestion was made by an ex prez of Shelll Oil. Now, the problem is to keep as much oil off the shoreline as possible. Using super tankers would employ a vessel with huge pumping and storage capacity. It could also boost the dwindling reserves in the Stategic Petroleum Storage facility that is in the region. Three or four super tankers could theoretically reduce the amount of free floating oil dramatically. This mess has come home to haunt this president. Unfortunately, he'll own it if something isn't done soon.

Dr. (Hon) Palast,
Please also include the Exxon's broken radar lies that caused the Valdez - and how they tricked media into tricking 99.99% of US to believe it was a drunken skipper's fault entirely. Also tie in Goldman Sachs International's Chairman on BP's Board for 10 years previous and how they are second largest owner of Helliburton.

You are a true HERO.

Excellent information. Your anger towards the BP criminals, is justified. Perhaps a little more directed to the Big Oil and Big Banking cronies in government is also called for.

As a tea party enthusiast myself, I find your derogatory "tea bagger" comment to be misplaced; although I share the frustration many of us have with the hijacking of a large part of the movement by Big Government, Neocon Republicans.

The real tea party is made up of people disgusted by the criminal cronyism in both political parties. Such Ron Paul types do not obviously line themselves up against one side or the other of the false left-right paradigm. They line themselves up against the CRIMINALS - those consistently violating the U.S. Constitution, as we find ourselves having been moved by both Democrats and Republicans into a fascistic oligopoly, with the necessary ethical boundaries between public and private now blurred to erased.

Big government is the problem, not, as you seem to suggest, the answer. Fat cat corporations like BP get that way through government largesse and corrupt cronyism. That is fascism and we've never had it like it is under front man Barry Soetoro and his government-by-Goldman-Sachs. Bush/Cheney certainly paved the way, though, and that understanding is what sets apart a real tea partier from the GOP clones.

A government that protects the free market is held in check by the people from becoming corrupted by big business and big banking cartels. As a people, we have failed to hold our government, hence our corporations, in check.

The bottom line is that the Bushistas and the Soetoro crowd are but front men for an international mafia behind the scenes that is far greater than they. And, because of your bias, you missed that in your piece; which prevented you from taking it all the way home.

It wouldn't surprise me if Halliburton staged the disaster, knowing what I now know about the crime syndicate to which they, BP, the Bushistas and the manchurian Soetoro and his Chicago thugs belong.

It's a generally good piece, nevertheless. Clean up the bias, connect some more dots, and you'll have it made.

Put on Led Zeppelin "When the Levee Breaks" as loud as you can stand it and fill in these lyrics.

If they keep on drilling oil’s going to leak
If they keep on drilling oil’s going to leak
When the oil leaks have no place to stay

Mean old oil taught me to weep and moan
Mean old oil taught me to weep and moan
Got what it takes to make a Fisherman leave his home

Oil, well; oil well; oil well.

Don't it make you feel bad?
When they destroy your way of living when you're trying to pay for your home?
When you're living down south and there's no work to do
Then you're going on to clean oil spill

Logic won't help you, lawsuit won't do you no good
Logic won't help you, lawsuit won't do you no good
When the oil spills, mama, you got to go

All last night BP executives moaned
All last night BP executives moaned
Thinking about their profits, not about my happy home

Going - going to clean oil spill
Going to clean oil spill
Sorry, but we won’t pay you

Drilling down - drilling down, now
Drilling down - drilling down, now
Drilling down
Drilling down
Drilling down
Drilling down

Drilling down - Drilling down, now
Drilling down - Drilling down, now
Drilling down - drilling down, now
Drilling down
Drilling dow-, dow-, dow-, dow-, down, now

Mary,
I agree with all your points and I made that clear in my radio commentaries which you can download by signing up to our podcasts.
Also, listen this interview I gave: http://shannynmoore.podbean.com/2010/04/30/43010-hour-1/
Yes, Obama's dawdling 5 days before nationalizing the spill response was a dreadful replay of his delay in responding to the Haitian earthquake.
